Last weekend I began to rebuild my room. I removed parts of the ceiling and created a second floor for the room. But let’s start from the beginning.
On Thursday evening my mom and I decided to begin with the project the next day. So on Friday we went to Hornbach, our local construction-material-market to buy the first load of material. After we were back home,
Julian and I began to remove the ceiling by slightly jumping onto it until it fell off. xD
This took some time, also because we had to remove some wood planks and plaster so the day was over right after we cleaned up my room, because there were about 50000 tons of rubble lying around in my room that we had to get rid of (because I wanted to sleep there and it was a slightly bit dusty). We even put some wooden plates up to the second floor to be able to sit there, and not only on dirt and dust.
The next day, Saturday, we went to Hornbach again to buy some material for a wall we had to build upstairs. After we brought everything back home, we began to screw the wooden plates to the floor which was a bit complicated because there were some tension in the plates (the floor isn’t very straight, so we had to stuff it in place to let it fit in) but before we had to build a ladder to even be able to get up to the second floor. This ladder is a piece of crap. It really is! xD It works, but it isn’t quite good yet because it is completely crooked and shaky (because it is crooked!). Building the ladder took about (you may believe it or not) 3 hours! So half the time we had was over.
On Sunday we began to BUILD THE WALL! (Sorry xD) First we needed to put some wooden pillars in place to be able to screw the wall plates onto them, which was kinda complicated, because our roof isn’t straight. So we had to cut all the wall plates to fit the shape of our roof and screw them onto the pillars. That’s the current situation. I think I will tell you more as soon as we are finished or at least some steps nearer to our goal.
